‘A space of escape, refuge, distance from the world, proximity to self. Where surroundings materialise as a reflection of you, pieces of oneself, fragments of a life, compounded love and memory.

Forever Bedroom hopes to capture the bedroom as a symbol of safety inherent to girlhood and queerness. A space that allows for the untangling of thoughts and piecing together of self in a place of the world that is ours alone. The exhibition exists as a moment in time, using a collaborative installation to explore how the environment of a bedroom holds us through times of unveiling, experimenting, discovery and creation. How it can exist as an anchor throughout change, in both internal and external worlds and how it is, particularly for creatives, a place of so many beginnings.

And of course is a celebration of collectors, trinkets, playlists and tender nights spent alone at your desk.’

My bedroom is an expression of myself. An extension of my personality and what I associate with feelings of ‘home’. When I think about my room and the comfort it provides me, I am reminded of the childlike toys, trinkets, and soft animals I continue to surround myself with. My photographic artworks reflect how I have grown alongside my bedroom, while softly displaying the fond feeling of coming home to my bedroom.
